Leave Policy Summary:

Vacation days + Public holidays: 29 days
Wedding days: 5 days
Paternity: 10 days
Maternity: Subject to region-specific laws
Sick days: Unlimited (Subject to Manager’s approval)

Vacation days: 5 carry forward, Accrued vacation days can be encashed during termination. Unused vacation days at the end of the year would not be encashed.

India specific details:

Vacation days: 19 days
Public Holidays: 10 days
Maternity: 26 weeks (mandate by govt.)

US specific details:

Vacation days: 20 days
Public Holidays: 9 days

Australia specific details:

Vacation days: 20 days
Public Holidays: 9 days
Compassionate leave: 2 days (mandate by govt.)
Unlimited Community service leave in accordance with Fair Work Act 2009
12 months of unpaid parental leave in accordance with Fair Work Act 2009

Rest of the World: Contractors specific details:

Vacation days: 20 days

Does this mean that the unused vacation days will be carry forwarded to the next year with a limit of 5 days and the rest of the unused vacation days will be encashed?

The unused vacations at the end of the year would not be encashed and go to /dev/null. The only time vacations would be encashed is when someone leaves the company.

What is considered the start of a year for the purpose of leave policy? 1st Jan, 1st April or some other date? @fulsmita
