Migrate SQL schemas to Dgraph types and build a social network
Presented by Aman Bansal, Anurag Sharma, and Manish Jain of Dgraph Labs
April 15, 10:30 - 11:30am PT / 1:30 - 2:30pm ET
Social networks yield themselves naturally to graph structures. Queries in social networks pertain a lot to traversing edges, filtering on inner nodes, and arbitrary depth joins. In this workshop participants will learn how to model a social network on Dgraph.
You will also compare Dgraph types vis-a-vis SQL schemas and understand the strengths of native graph DBs. You will dive into the nitty-gritty of converting SQL queries into DQL queries and the best practices around it. Learn to identify the strengths and expressiveness of Dgraph’s query language and also get a template to follow for migrating SQL schemas to GraphQL types. A hands-on session with live coding and Q&A; some familiarity with SQL would be nice but is not compulsory.
